If Kobbie Mainoo's brilliant goal in Manchester United's 2-2 draw with Liverpool on Sunday gave you a sense of déjà vu, you are not alone.

Mainoo's goal was near-identical to the famous one scored by Federico Macheda against Aston Villa at Old Trafford almost exactly 15 years ago to the day.

That sensational debut goal from 17-year-old Italian striker Macheda proved to be a pivotal one in the Premier League title race that year, as United went on to pip Liverpool to the post.

Could Mainoo's goal be similarly detrimental to Liverpool's title chances this season? Time will tell.

Macheda went on to score four more times in a United shirt before leaving the club permanently in 2014 for Cardiff City, following a series of loans.

His nomadic career has since seen him play for the likes of Novara, Panathinaikos and APOEL, and the now 32-year-old currently turns out for Turkish Süper Lig outfit MKE Ankaragücü.
