Erik ten Hag has backed André Onana to come good for Manchester United but has stated that the player “has to step up.”
Speaking to the press ahead of his side’s trip to Sheffield United, the United boss leapt to the defence of the goalkeeper: “He knows, we know, he will do much better and as every player who’s coming into the Premier League, you need an integration period but he has to step up.”
Ten Hag has also confirmed that Victor Lindelof is available for the game at Bramall Lane after the terrorist attack in Brussels which led to the abandonment of the game between Belgium and Sweden, the latter captained by the United centre-back.
“Our thoughts are with Victor, the victims’ relatives and the victims. Victor has energy and is ready to play this game.”
United will be looking to build on their last gasp comeback win against Brentford prior to the international break when they face off against the bottom-placed Blades.
