Emerson Royal replaces injured Danilo in Brazil squad | OneFootball

Brazil have called up Emerson Royal to replace Danilo after the Juventus full-back picked up an injury in Thursday’s draw with Venezuela.

Danilo was substituted with a muscle injury at half-time of the World Cup qualifier and will now return to his club for treatment.

Tottenham right-back Emerson Royal has been drafted into the squad for next week’s game against Uruguay.

Speaking to sportv after Thursday’s game, Danilo expressed his frustration at the difficult schedule.

“It is a normal muscle injury, I know my own body, as soon as I felt it i signalled to come off,” he said.

“We are subject to these things with a schedule like this, which is not easy to manage. Especially when we talk about South American qualifiers where we have to take into account the long trips, the time difference, adaptation to the climate.”
