The search for a left-back is complete as Manchester United have signed Sergio Reguilón on loan from Tottenham, Erik ten Hag confirmed on Friday.

United prioritised the signing of a left-back after Luke Shaw suffered a serious muscle injury.

“He’s here. He trained. He will be available,” Ten Hag said of Reguilón at his pre-match press conference.

“He’s an experienced player who has played at big clubs in La Liga & in the PL.

“Shaw and Malacia are injured long-term so we are well covered in that emergency situation.”

Ten Hag also said summer signing Rasmus Højlund is available to make his debut against Arsenal on Sunday.

The deal to sign Reguilón reportedly had a clause that can see it end as soon as January and does not include an option to buy.

Reguilón joined Spurs in 2020 but spent last season on loan with Atlético de Madrid, making 11 appearances in LaLiga.
