With his move from PSG to Al-Hilal being finalised, Neymar is now the most expensive player in football history.

Nobody has accumulated more in transfer fees than the Brazilian superstar. But who else ranks in the top five?

1. Neymar (£326.4m)

In becoming the latest big name to leave Europe for Saudi Arabia, Neymar becomes the first player ever to break the £300m mark in cumulative fees.

His first move from Santos to Barcelona came in a deal worth just shy of £51m before the Blaugrana made a huge profit four years later when selling him to PSG for £198m.

The £77.6m fee paid by Al-Hilal now takes him to more than £326 in overall transfers.

2. Romelu Lukaku (£291m)

The man whose crown has been taken by Neymar is Lukaku, as a result of his many big-money moves.

Chelsea first paid £10m for him in 2011 and then paid a then-club record fee of £97.5m to bring him back two years ago.

In between, he racked up high fees when joining Everton, Manchester United and Inter and given that he is out of favour at Stamford Bridge again, could make another assault on top spot again soon.

3. Cristiano Ronaldo (£210.1m)

Like Lukaku, the multiple Ballon d’Or winner has racked up substantial fees across five different moves.

And like Lukaku, one club came in for him on two separate occasions, with his moves to Manchester United at various ends of his glittering career accounting for £24m of his total.

It was, of course, his blockbuster moves to Real Madrid and Juventus that do much of the heavy lifting at £186m between them.

4. Philippe Coutinho (£167.9m)

Although he has moved for money on four separate occasions, it is one massive move which hauls the Brazilian playmaker near the top of this list.

That came with his £105m move from Liverpool to Barcelona which had the potential to rise as high as £142m pending various bonuses being met.

The next highest fee of his career came when leaving the Camp Nou to join Aston Villa last year in a reported £17m deal.

5. Kylian Mbappé (£165.7m)

Unlike the rest of the top five, the French superstar makes the list by virtue of one move alone.

That was, of course, his 2017 switch from Monaco to PSG on an initial loan which had an obligation to be made permanent for an eye-watering sum.

Although he is set to leave the Parc des Princes next summer, doing so on a free upon the expiration of his contract means he is unlikely to rise any higher on this list – for now.
