Spain legend David Silva is set to retire from football this week after an ACL injury has ended his prospects of taking the field for Real Sociedad this season.

The 37-year-old is one of the modern era’s most recognizable players, best known for his time at Manchester City, where he scored 60 goals and provided 93 assists across 309 Premier League appearances.

After spells with Valencia, Celta Vigo, Eibar and Real Sociedad on either side of his Manchester stint, Silva will retire with a hefty trophy haul, winning 15 major trophies in domestic football.

The midfielder also won the 2010 World Cup, 2008 European Championships, and the 2012 European Championships with Spain.
