Bayern Munich defender and France international Lucas Hernandez (27) will sign for Paris Saint-Germain, according to a report from L’Équipe.
Les Parisiens have targeted the 2018 World Cup winner to bolster their defensive options. Hernandez wanted to join PSG this summer and has rejected Bayern’s proposals for a contract extension. The Bavarians agreed to negotiate with their Parisian counterparts and have eventually struck a €40m agreement with the Ligue 1 champions, according to the outlet. RMC Sport hint that the transfer fee is, however, closer to €47m. The total package may include bonuses, hence the difference in prices given by the two outlets.
According to both Foot Mercato and L’Équipe, Hernandez is already in Paris to undergo a two-day medical. It is the last hurdle before the completion of the deal. The left-back sustained a season-ending ACL tear during France’s opening game against Australia in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Despite the protests of the most ardent PSG ultra groups, the Marseille-born left-back is set to sign a three-year deal with the club.
