Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo will return to the matchday squad on Thursday.
They face Sheriff at Old Trafford, with the Portuguese star set to return from his exile after being left out of the squad for the 1-1 draw at Chelsea for disciplinary issues.
But the man in charge is now willing to put that incident in the past and was eager to draw a line under the entire situation.
“Cristiano will be in the squad tomorrow. Raphaël Varane isn’t. He’ll be out until the World Cup and won’t play for us before then,” Ten Hag told reporters.
“It’s not difficult with Cristiano. We answered all the questions. He was out for one game and he’s back in the squad now as usual.
“You don’t have to ask any more questions about it because I won’t answer anymore. We covered everything last week and explained it all. Now we need to focus on the game tomorrow.”
He also revealed that Harry Maguire, Donny van de Beek and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are all also in training and in contention to feature on Thursday.
