The west London side are on the hunt for a new manager after they unexpectedly sacked Tuchel this morning.

The Athletic states that Blues owner Todd Boehly will also speak to Mauricio Pocettino about succeeding Tuchel in the Stamford Bridge dugout with the Argentinian tactician and Potter the two outstanding favourites so far.

Tuchel was in charge of his 100th game for the Stamford Bridge side on Tuesday, but saw Chelsea lose 1-0 to Dinamo Zagreb in their Champions League opener.

Potter has impressed during his three years at Brighton and this season has seen the club lose just one of their opening six games.

Pochettino meanwhile has been out of work since July having been sacked by Paris Saint-Germain after they crashed out of the Champions League at the last 16 stage.
