Celtic are top of the form charts heading into the game in Germany against Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday night, which could be vital in helping decide whether or not we can qualify for the Europa League knockout phase after the New Year. The Europa League Twitter account posted the table today, with the Hoops sitting number one ahead of the likes of PSV, West Ham and Napoli.

Celtic have been a hell of a lot more consistent in recent months, with a minor blip against Livingston at Celtic Park the only real blemish on an otherwise fantastic run of form for the last two months or so. In many respects the away win up at Pittodrie back in October has been the catalyst for this magnificent purple patch we find ourselves in at the current time. It gave the players and fans believe that we could go away from home and grind out a results, in tandem with starting an unbeaten run.

Now, the game against the Germans come Thursday evening will be a different kettle of fish entirely, but they are on a somewhat sticky patch at the minute which could bode well for us and our confident team. A win against a dogged and determined St Johnstone side in the Premier Sports Cup at the weekend has given everyone at the Club even more of a boost heading into these next run of fixtures in the lead up to Christmas time.

With Ange getting ideas and philosophy across, whilst key players are returning from injury, Celtic appear to be a far more settled side. It’s time we start motoring and pulling out to win, and on current form you wouldn’t get against a result in the city of Leverkusen come Thursday night. We will all be watching with great anticipation to see if this team has learned from their mistakes at Parkhead and are willing to be ruthless at this level.

It promises to be a cracker!
