With Manchester City’s 2021-22 campaign currently paused to allow for the November international break, we are taking a look at the statistics which have stood out from the season so far.

Pep Guardiola’s men are just under a third of the way through the Premier League calendar, and sit second in the table behind Chelsea, with 23 points from 11 games.

The defending champions have delivered several eye-catching performances, including the back-to-back 5-0 victories over Norwich City and Arsenal and the impressive wins away to Chelsea and Manchester United.

Players and manager stats

Against Norwich, Jack Grealish became the first English player to score on his home Premier League debut for City since Frank Lampard against Chelsea in September 2014.
City’s victories over Norwich, Arsenal and Leicester City saw Guardiola name the same starting XI in three consecutive top-flight league games for the first time in his managerial career. It was also the first time the Club had done so in the Premier League since August 2015 under Manuel Pellegrini.
Against Southampton, Raheem Sterling became the ninth player to reach 200 Premier League appearances for the Club, and only the second Englishman to do so, after Joe Hart (266).
Our 1-0 win over Chelsea was Guardiola’s 221st in all competitions as City boss, moving ahead of Les McDowell (220) to set a new club record for the most wins by a manager.
Phil Foden (21y 128d) became the youngest player to score in three consecutive Premier League appearances against Liverpool since Romelu Lukaku in November 2013 (20y 194d).

Team stats

We won our first two home Premier League games of the season by an aggregate score of 10-0, the biggest such combined score in a top-flight campaign since Liverpool’s 12-1 tally in their first two home fixtures of 1989-90.
We have won each of our last nine games against Burnley across all competitions by an aggregate scoreline of 32-1. This is currently our third longest winning run against a specific opponent, behind Watford (13), Bournemouth and Fulham (11 each).
We have won more away Premier League games at Old Trafford against Manchester United than any other team (eight).
City made 762 successful passes in our 2-0 win against United, the most by a team in a Premier League game this season, and the most a team has had on record against the Reds in the competition (since 2003-04).
