Fiorentina have released a statement in light of the recent accusations made by Roma toward Nicolo Zaniolo.

The former Giallorossi attacker is said to have entered the dressing room of Roma Primavera following their defeat to Fiorentina.

The incident saw Zaniolo strike two Primavera players.

However, Fiorentina’s statement provides Zaniolo’s version of the night’s events:

“Fiorentina, regarding what happened at the end of the Primavera Championship semi-final between Fiorentina and Roma, reports the following statements by footballer Nicolò Zaniolo: “at the end of the match I went down to the locker room to congratulate the Fiorentina boys and then I went to the Roma locker room to say hello and congratulate them on the season, but at a certain point they started insulting me so, at that point, to avoid the situation degenerating, I preferred to leave.”
