In an interview with Téléfoot, France manager Didier Deschamps was asked for his thoughts on Jürgen Klopp’s decision to resign as Liverpool manager after almost 9 years in charge of the Premier League club.

In January, Klopp announced that he would step down at the helm of Anfield at the end of the season – much to the shock of Liverpool fans and the wider football public. The former Borussia Dortmund head coach has enjoyed a successful spell on Merseyside winning 9 trophies during his spell in charge of the club and everything possible to win minus the UEFA Europa League.

Justifying his season to step down from his duties of the Reds, the German manager has said he is running out of energy and that the club desvered a manager ‘at the top of their game’. Although they could have won more, Klopp managed success during his last season winning the Carabao Cup and aiding the Reds to return to Champions League football despite admitting he is no longer at the top of his game.
