Yangel Herrera transferred to Real Sociedad | OneFootball

The Girona FC and Yangel Herrera end their joint journey today, following the confirmation of his transfer to Real Sociedad. The Club wants to acknowledge his contribution and value his decisive role during these years at Montilivi.

Arriving in the summer of 2022, initially on loan from Manchester City and later signed permanently, Yangel Herrera has worn the red-and-white jersey for three seasons. During this period, the Venezuelan midfielder played a total of 85 official matches, scoring 11 goals and providing 5 assists. Season after season, he gained importance in the team and established himself as a key player in Míchel's system.

His role was particularly outstanding in the 2023-24 campaign, where he played 29 league matches and scored 5 goals, contributing to Girona's historic qualification for the Champions League. In the 2024-25 season, he continued to deliver great performances, with 29 matches, 4 goals, and 3 assists in the league, in addition to making his debut with the Club in the top European competition.
