Girona star Yan Couto has late on Saturday moved to send a message of congratulations to fellow countryman and Real Madrid standout Rodrygo.

As much, of course, comes after Rodrygo secured for himself a fresh piece of silverware.

Real were this evening crowned La Liga champions for the 2023/24 campaign.

With four fixtures still to play, Carlo Ancelotti’s troops have opened up an insurmountable 13-point advantage atop the table, in the process sealing the title.

And, as alluded to above, one individual who was quick to reveal his delight for one particular member of Los Blancos’ ranks, was Yan Couto.

Defender Couto played his part in Girona’s downing of Barcelona on Saturday night, the result which made official the Blaugrana being ousted from their perch atop the Spanish football hierarchy.

And, in the aftermath of as much, the Brazilian took to his official Instagram account, to send a message of congratulations to compatriot Rodrygo:

‘Congratulations brother’, he wrote.

And Rodrygo soon went on to reply, less-than-subtly thanking Couto for his role in confirming Real Madrid’s champion status:

‘thank you so much you saw it’
