It seems that the evolution of central defenders at Barcelona has become a constant. Pau Cubarsi’s emergence has already excited Barça, and his presence is greatly helping the team. In fact, Barcelona deem him to be such a useful asset that they have already renewed his contract.

However, his presence and emergence from the youth divisions of the club itself may not be as unique as previously thought. Instead, new names who are heralded as experts of the central defensive position seem to be emerging at a faster rate than normal.

Leo Saca, born in 2007, has already been reportedly training with the Barcelona first team. A left-footed defender with a lot of promise, and much excitement is there within Barcelona about what he brings to the team and what he can offer.

However, he is not the only defender that the first team has taken a liking to it seems. Another young defender by the name of Landry Farré, who is aged 17, has also been training in a lot of recent training sessions, according to the information provided by Samuel Marsden.

Despite being born in the Ivory Coast, Farre is currently a Spanish international after choosing Spain as his choice of representation. Under the orders of Pol Planes in Juvenil B, Farre is able to play comfortably across the entirety of the backline positions.

Moreover, Marsden reports that the recent training sessions have given Xavi Hernandez a very good opportunity to take a better look at the player. Given recent problems at the left-back position defensively, it may be a good idea for Barcelona to look for solutions internally before the end of this season.

Adept with using both feet, he is reportedly a physical player with good traits in terms of his strength and stamina. However, the most detailed report of the player will likely remain with the coach himself, and perhaps the upcoming squad list for the clash against Real Sociedad will be telling as to where Barcelona consider the player’s quality to be at this point in time.
