Xabi Alonso now considers surprise Real Madrid star ‘untransferable’ | OneFootball

Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso has made clear to the club that he has no intention of allowing one particular member of his defensive ranks to depart over the weeks ahead.

That’s according to Diario AS, who point towards Fran García as the player in question.

Full-back Fran has of course seen his future in Spain’s capital thrown up in the air across the summer to date.

Following the arrival of Álvaro Carreras, the 25-year-old is expected to be bumped down the left-back pecking order in Xabi Alonso’s squad.

As alluded to above, though, this does not mean that Fran doesn’t feature prominently in the plans of the new coaching staff at the Santiago Bernabéu.

This comes amid confirmation on the part of AS that:

‘Although there were offers for Fran at the start of the summer, for Xabi he is untransferable. And, therefore, for the club as well.’
