Trailing the Swans by two points, Wrexham had to take all three on the night to leapfrog City in the table.
Three goals came in a six-minute spell soon after the half-hour, Ava Suckley’s goal for Wrexham cancelled out by Maisie Miller but Abbie Ibbenden restored the lead.
Katy Hosford then brought Swansea back on level terms eight minutes after the break but just before added time, Keren Allen grabbed a dramatic winner for the visitors.
In Wednesday’s other fixture, Cardiff City moved seven points clear of The New Saints at the top with a 2-0 win over Aberystwyth Town, who remain three points ahead of basement side Cardiff Met.
Both goals came in the opening 20 minutes, Ffion Price and Mackenzie Olden the scorers.
