The question we’re asking NUFC fans today – Would you like a Newcastle United victory parade or an event on the Town Moor?

Details of a special Carabao Cup winners event were released by Newcastle United on Friday.

The event will be held on The Town Moor on Saturday 29 March from 4pm to 8pm. The Newcastle United official announcement (see below) on Friday giving the full details. Newcastle United fans needing to register their interest if they want to attend.

The Town Moor event will have a DJ and live band, as well as on a big screen showing the full match from Wembley last Sunday. With then Eddie Howe and the squad presented on stage with the trophy, followed by a light show.

No alcohol will be on sale at the event nor allowed to be brought into the event, no parking will be provided and it is standing only on the Town Moor (wheelchair user will though have an area set aside but that must be pre-booked).

Fair to say that the reaction to the club’s announcement of this Town Moor event hasn’t been universally positive.

Many fans asking why no Newcastle United victory parade?

The usual thing for pretty much all clubs when winning something, is to have an open top bus taking the successful team around the city/town, with fans packing the streets.

Maybe some kind of parade will still happen but very strange if that ends up the case, as surely it would have made sense to announce everything together, the Town Moor event and a Newcastle United victory parade.

The odds surely have to be against any kind of Newcastle United victory parade happening, as with the internationals happening, the club and local authorities have had all week to arrange what is planned and to announce it. Why not announce the Newcastle United victory parade on Friday, when the Town Moor thing was made public, if there is indeed going to be a parade around the city.

Anyway, is it all a storm in a Cup, or is this really important?

Please indicate your preference in the poll of Newcastle United fans below.

We have given you the following three options, please pick just one:

Newcastle United victory parade only, a full on open top bus tour around the city centre

An event on the Town Moor only, as per the club announcement

An event on the Town Moor and smaller open top bus plan, with the team taken direct from St James’ Park up to the Town Moor
