‘Will you join Real Madrid?’ – Kylian Mbappe’s brother gives crucial update on future | OneFootball

As the end of the 2023-24 season nears, all eyes are on Kylian Mbappe’s future as the youngster is yet to confirm his next step after leaving PSG.

All signs, however, indicate a move to Real Madrid which has been on the cards for several years now. With his contract running out next month, the Frenchman will sign for Los Blancos as a free-agent although a hefty signing-on bonus is expected to be involved.

An official announcement of his signing, however, is still pending and is expected in the coming weeks.

The sibling’s decision

Kylian Mbappe and his brother Ethan Mbappe have both represented PSG in recent years, albeit at different levels.

While the older brother was by far the French club’s leader on the field with his contributions and impact, the younger of the two plays for PSG’s under-19 side and has even featured twice for the senior team in Ligue 1.

In light of his elder brother’s imminent move to Real Madrid, Ethan was recently asked by a PSG fan if he was on his way to Madrid as well. He confidently replied in the negative as revealed by Fabrizio Romano and assured fans that he would stay at the club.

When will Mbappe’s move be announced?

PSG only have two games remaining in the ongoing season, one against Metz in Ligue 1 and the other against Olympique Lyon in the final of the Coupe de France.

They officially complete their season in a week, and an official announcement of Mbappe’s transfer to Real Madrid can be expected anytime after the cup final.

As revealed earlier this week, Mbappe wants the announcement of his transfer to be made before the start of the Euro 2024 in Germany, a stance that Real Madrid’s administration share.

The only hurdle, however, is that Mbappe is contractually bound to PSG until June 30th and thus cannot officially be presented as a Real Madrid player without the Parisiens’ permission.

Moreover, Los Blancos must negotiate with the French Federation to release Mbappe temporarily from the training camp which appears complicated.
