An insight into the plans of the coaching staff at La Liga giants Barcelona for star striker Robert Lewandowski in their upcoming meeting with Inter Milan has on Sunday been provided.

Barcelona are of course in the thick of preparations for a return to action on the continent on Tuesday night.

After a pulsating 3-3 draw in the tie’s opener in Catalunya’s capital earlier this week, the Blaugrana will make the trip to Italy, for the return leg of a Champions League semi-final tie with Inter Milan.

The aforementioned Robert Lewandowski was forced to sit out the first leg, owing to a thigh injury suffered last month.

If the latest word stemming from Barcelona’s training ground is anything to go by, though, then the former Bayern Munich man could yet be cleared to play his part at San Siro.

This comes after Lewandowski was spotted back in group training on Sunday.

The question now becomes: Will the 36-year-old be included in Barcelona’s starting line-up to face Inter Milan?

As per a report from Marca, as much, as things stand, looks altogether unlikely:

‘Lewandowski will travel with the Barcelona squad to Milan tomorrow, Monday, although everything indicates he won’t be in the starting lineup. The former Bayern Munich player will start on the bench because neither he nor Flick want to take risks.’
