La Liga giants Barcelona sent scouts to attend the midweek Europa League meeting between Eintracht Frankfurt, and Midtjylland.
That’s according to Diario Sport, citing Tipsbladet, who point towards Omar Marmoush as having been the subject of Barca’s attentions.
Frontman Marmoush is for his part in the midst of nothing short of a remarkable campaign in Eintracht’s colours to date.
All told, in 18 appearances across all competitions, the Egyptian has racked up a head-turning 26 direct goal contributions (15G, 11A).
Such exploits have not gone at all unnoticed amongst Europe’s leading clubs, a whole host of which are understood to have had scouts in attendance for Eintracht’s meeting with Midtjylland on Thursday.
As per Sport, alongside the aforementioned Barcelona, all of Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Villarreal and FC Köln were also spying on Marmoush.
When it comes to the Blaugrana specifically, amid an ongoing search for reinforcements in the attacking third, they consider the 25-year-old as a potentially fruitful addition.
Though Viktor Gyökeres and Erling Haaland are the two leading targets on the part of Deco and co, Marmoush is viewed as a more financially attainable alternative, to provide competition to Robert Lewandowski for next season.
