Four Serie A matches were due to take place across Easter Monday, but have since been postponed until further notice for a period of mourning following the death of Pope Francis at the age of 88.

Here is when the postponed games could be carried out.

Four fixtures were due to take place on Monday: Torino-Udinese, Cagliari-Fiorentina, Genoa-Lazio and Parma-Juventus.

These will now need to be played during a midweek slot before the final game of the season, which is scheduled to take place on May 25. There are no available weekend slots remaining before the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

Given that there are also Coppa Italia fixtures on the schedule for this week, which could also be put back, the postponed Serie A matches are unlikely to take place in the coming days.

That leaves four possible midweek slots before the end of the 2024-25 season. The possible dates are the Tuesdays and Wednesdays of: April 28/29, May 6/7, May 13/14 and May 20/21.

Some teams will not be able to play their postponed Serie A matches on some of those dates, though.

For instance, Fiorentina remain involved in Conference League action, and will take on Real Betis on May 1 and May 8, which rules out the April 28/29 and May 6/7 slots for their Serie A match against Cagliari.

That means that Fiorentina will not be able to play against Cagliari until May 13 at the earliest if the game is not played this week.

Given the complications, particularly surrounding Fiorentina’s fixture list, there is a chance that the four postponed Serie A matches are played in different weeks.

The league is expected to provide an update in due course.
