FC Barcelona fans must have been thrilled to see their team come back from behind to get a 2-4 victory over Atletico Madrid in a crucial game that can end up turning the balance of La Liga firmly in the Blaugrana team’s favor.
However, after such a spectacle, the Cules will now have to wait for quite a while to see their team in action again, as this was the last match before the March international break.
Still, there will be a lot of action going on in this break, as several Barcelona players will take to pitch for their respective national sides. One such tie that will see a high number of Blaugrana players on the pitch is the UEFA Nations League quarter-final between the Netherlands and Spain.
Frenkie de Jong addressed a press conference from the Dutch side ahead of this game, and in addition to providing an update about his fitness, he also talked about the prospect of facing his club teammates.
As Mundo Deportivo has reported, Lamine Yamal was one player in particular about whom he was asked. The Blaugrana midfielder was confident that his team could keep the Spanish winger in control if they executed their work well:
“We have very good defenders, but above all, we will have to do it as a team. Stopping Lamine is not a task for just one player. It will be a difficult challenge, but any player can be stopped. He shouldn’t be compared to Messi, but what he is already showing at this age is exceptional.”
The Dutchman also revealed how this upcoming tie was talked about in the Barcelona dressing room: “Of course, we joke about this matchup in the (Barcelona) locker room. It’s going to be a great game.”
There is no doubt that this game has all the ingredients to turn out to be a highly entertaining affair, but it will be all the more interesting for Barcelona fans keeping in view their players who will be playing for either of the two sides.
