One want away Liverpool star is now in line to stay with the club. That's a turn of events few saw coming.
Liverpool are close to agreeing a deal with Bournemouth for Ben Doak, according to the Guardian. They claim the Scot is set to move for around £25m.
It's a decent amount for a young player with no real Premier League experience. The Reds don't really have the space in their squad to keep Doak around, either, as they don't appear to fancy him as backup to Mo Salah.

And so cashing in now makes a lot of sense. It's a case of selling while Doak's price is decently high, given next season looks so unclear for him as things stand.
If he doesn't land a decent loan move, that price will only drop. Liverpool are making sure that won't happen by getting a deal done now.
But with it, Liverpool also appear to position one want away star to stay in their squad.
With Doak leaving, Federico Chiesa is essentially the only real backup in the squad to Salah. Especially as Harvey Elliott is also linked with a move away - but then, Arne Slot doesn't appear to like the playmaker on the wing all that much.
Chiesa was initially signed as backup on the wing and it's a role he did hold last season. Even if he barely got on the pitch.
His lack of minutes sparked all sorts of speculation that he'd leave - and reports certainly suggest Chiesa is after a return to Italy. After all, he doesn't particularly want another season of limited minutes ahead of a World Cup year.
