Wales manager Rhian Wilkinson confirmed news of the crash during her press conference on Tuesday afternoon.

The Welsh Football Association said all players and staff who were on the bus were injured.

An ambulance was at the scene attending to the driver of another vehicle, though the Welsh FA said that the other driver was unharmed.

Wilkinson also confirmed that all players and staff were okay, although shaken, following the crash in Switzerland.

The Welsh head coach and captain Angharad James were not on the team bus due to their presence at the press conference.

Details of the collision itself are currently limited, although it’s believed to have taken place near the team’s hotel.

The Welsh side had been due to train at the Kybunpark stadium in preparation for their Euro 2025 clash with France.

However, Tuesday night’s training session has been cancelled following the accident. Wilkinson’s squad may still train later in the day at their team base.

Wales are competing at their first ever Women’s Euros and lost their opening game 3-0 to the Netherlands. The Dragons could crash out of the tournament on Wednesday if they suffer a defeat to France in St. Gallen.

What did Rhian Wilkinson say about Wales team bus crash?

Wales boss Rhian Wilkinson has already given comments to the media about the crash involving the Wales team bus at Euro 2025.

She said: “I think everyone, from all reports, is OK and we just need to get them all together and get everyone away from the scene to reassess.’

Regarding the decision to cancel training, she added: “Yeah, football is secondary and I think, yes we are shaken because we are away from the team right now knowing that they’ve had to experience that.

“But equally we have a great group and I have been assured that everyone is fine. We have practiced for the unexpected, that’s what we can call this.

“We will check in with everyone and make sure they are all in a good spot and we can focus on the football again after that.”

The Welsh FA has also confirmed that all players and staff were uninjured, as are the people in the other vehicle.

What the Welsh FA have said about the crash

The Welsh FA released their own statement in the aftermath of the crash.

They said: “The Football Association of Wales [FAW] can confirm that the Cymru national team bus has been involved in a road traffic accident whilst travelling to Arena St Gallen for their matchday training session ahead of Wednesday’s UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 match against France.

“All passengers on the Cymru national team bus and in the other vehicle are unharmed. The FAW’s priority has been to remove the players from the scene and return to the Cymru training base to complete their preparations for tomorrow’s match.”

Accident comes five days after Diogo Jota’s tragic accident

The crash involving the Wales team bus comes just five days after the accident that took the lives of Liverpool and Portugal star Diogo Jota and his brother Andre.

Jota’s vehicle went off the road at kilometre 65 of the A-52 near the Zamora region of Sanabria, Spain, early on Thursday morning.

Reports claim that one of the tyres of the Lamborghini they were travelling in burst while overtaking. The supercar came off the road, rolled, and then burst into flames.

The accident took place just two weeks after he married long-term partner Rute Cardoso, the 28-year-old mother of his three young children.

A minute’s silence was held at Euro 2025 games including Wales’ 3-0 defeat to the Netherlands.

The funeral for Jota and his brother Andre took place on Saturday morning in their hometown of Gondomar, just outside of Porto
