Earlier today, it was reported that Barcelona loanee Vitor Roque, who is currently on loan at Real Betis, has asked the Verdiblancos to leave the club, in favour of a move to Brazil.
This came against the backdrop of Brazilian giants Palmeiras reportedly eyeing a move for Roque in the month of February – a transfer that would have required Real Betis’ permission.
Roque is contracted to Real Betis on a one-year loan deal, with an option for an additional season, even though everything suggests the forward will return to his parent club Barcelona at the end of the season.
Nevertheless, Roque’s agent Andre Cury has recently put out a statement, where he has denied the recent reports claiming that the forward has requested a move away from Real Betis.
“It is not true that Vitor Roque has asked to leave Betis,” he told Mundo Deportivo in a response to a query.
“We have not received any official proposal for this market,” he added.

This is an interesting development considering the fact that the Brazilian was absent in Real Betis’ most recent encounter against Gent in the UEFA Conference League.
Although the Verdiblancos secured a comfortable 3-0 victory, Roque was not a part of the setup, which triggered alarm bells surrounding his future at the club.
Barcelona, for their part, will be closely following this developing situation as the club would want to get rid of the Brazilian as soon as possible.
With a busy summer on the horizon, Barça’s target will be to get rid of some of the unwanted players in the team so that they can make space for newer players.
Vitor Roque is sure to top the list. Therefore, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the Brazilian this summer.
