Inter striker Marcus Thuram reveals where he got his unusual nickname Tikus, his greatest sports idols and the one thing he would never do.
The France international was named among the GQ Italia Men of the Year after a sensational debut season in Serie A, where he won the Scudetto, and carried on this term with his first hat-trick.
He sat down to answer some questions, including where his nickname comes from.
“When I was a kid, my family took the end of petit – which means little in French – and the end of Marcus, which is cous, so it became Tikus,” explained Thuram.

Asked for his idols, he stuck to Inter, at least in part.
“In football Adriano, but for sport in general I would probably say Muhammad Ali.”
His favourite coach is current boss Simone Inzaghi and his best goal was the first in the derby against Milan, beating France teammate Mike Maignan.
With that in mind, Thuram was asked what he would never, ever do.
“Obviously, support Milan!”
