Video: Rasmus Hojlund steps up his recovery ahead of return to action after international break | OneFootball

Manchester United have provided an injury update on Rasmus Hojlund, whose return to action is now not too far off.

Hojlund sustained a hamstring injury during United’s pre-season clash against Arsenal, which kept him from featuring in the club’s first two Premier League fixtures vs. Fulham and Brighton and Hove Albion.

In his absence, Erik ten Hag deployed Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount as United’s most advanced players – a tactic that helped the side’s press but didn’t prove to be too effective in terms of hurting the opponent.

Summer signing Joshua Zirkzee had some minutes in the number nine position and even opened his United goalscoring account by grabbing a late winner against Fulham.

It was stated that Hojlund was set to be sidelined for a period of six weeks, and now the Red Devils have given an update on his condition.

“Rasmus Hojlund has continued his rehabilitation at Carrington, as the Manchester United forward bids to return from injury.”

“Rasmus has been working hard in the gym as he eyes a return to fitness, with our cameras capturing his individual progress as he trained on his own away from the first team.”

“Everyone at the club is looking forward to seeing Rasmus back in action and we wish him the best as he continues to work his way towards a return.”

United posted a video of Hojlund going through the paces at the club’s training complex.

In the video, the Dane appears to be in good spirits and raring to go.

Last term – during his maiden season in England – Hojlund scored 16 goals in 43 appearances across all competitions.

United fans will certainly be hoping that the 21-year-old will be available for selection after the September international break.

Meanwhile, Ten Hag and Hojlund’s teammates will host bitter rivals Liverpool at home on Sunday.
