CBS pundits Nigel Reo-Coker and Mike Grella are not entirely convinced by Juventus signing Randal Kolo Muani on loan from PSG: ‘I don’t see him as a traditional No.9.’

The French forward formally joined the Serie A giants on Thursday on a dry loan deal, which means Juventus do not have an option to make his move permanent.

The striker has started right away for Juventus in a big game against Napoli on Saturday, pushing Dusan Vlahovic to the bench for the third time in a row.

“I don’t look at Kolo Muani as a holder player. I don’t see him as a traditional No.9 in the middle,” said CBS pundit Nigel Reo-Coker.

“For me, he’s more to run in behind. I am interested to see how Thiago Motta uses his strength and abilities in the middle.

“I still feel he lacks that composure in vital moments. I don’t see him as a traditional No.9, he has a different attitude as a player.”

Mike Grella also looked unconvinced.

“I don’t understand the signing,” said the former midfielder.

“Hopefully I am wrong, but I don’t get it from a financial perspective. He’s going to cost 8 million bucks for five months of football. Even if he does well, he’s going to go back. Number two is that Juventus’ biggest issue is that when they have the ball they don’t have an answer against an organised block. They need a guy to open that up, and Muani is not a proper centre-forward.”
