Tyrique George has his first Premier League goal, a great strike to level the scores against Fulham that came ten days after he scored his first senior goal.
After a desperately poor game overall from Enzo Maresca’s team, they gradually managed to turn up the heat on the Whites, and George has made his mark as a striker, replacing Nicolas Jackson not long ago.
The ball was chested down by Pedro Neto towards Cole Palmer, Antonee Robinson got a toe to it to touch it away from the midfielder, but ended up rolling it right to George.
He knew what he had to do and made no mistake, striking it first time into the bottom corner from outside the box. That’s that super Cobham technique.
It’s a shame it came in this context – he barely got to celebrate it as he and his teammates raced to collect the ball and take it back to the halfway line in search of a winner. If they go on and win this now, that will be such a memorable moment for the kid.

Thank God Christopher Nkunku wasn’t in the squad today – otherwise we’re sure he’s the one who would have been on instead of George to lead the line. Young Ty has once again shown how useful he is as an attacking option.
His status should be assured for next season – forget loans, he should be a key option for us both as a backup striker as a backup winger. We don’t want to see Nkunku again this season, assuming the youngster can stay fit. He deserves more and more time.
