Tottenham Hotspur target Florian Wirtz has been hailed by the former Spurs striker Gary Lineker amid his recent Bundesliga showings.
It has been an impressive 2023/24 term for Bayer Leverkusen in the German top flight as they look to end Bayern Munich’s dominance at the top.
As a result, the likes of Wirtz have been linked with a potential summer exit from the BayArena, and Tottenham are said to be one of the clubs interested.

According to a report from Spain in November, we are one of the many clubs who are believed to be monitoring the situation of Wirtz.
The report claims Wirtz has been valued in the region of €80-100m (£68m-85m) by Bayer Leverkusen who will be keen to keep their prized asset.
But we are among the likes of Arsenal and Barcelona who have also been credited with an interest in the 20-year-old German.
And it is apparent he has caught the eye of BBC Sport presenter Lineker who has hailed the youngster on The Rest Is Football podcast, he said: “They have got young Wirtz who I think – I mentioned in a previous podcast – he’s going to be a very special player, indeed.”

The 20-year-old has already racked up a sensational return of eight goals and 15 assists across all competitions this season.
He has certainly been at the heart of all the positive things Xabi Alonso’s side have been doing in Germany this term.
Wirtz has even been described as ‘one of the great sensations’ by the transfer report from Mundo Deportivo back in November.
However, it does feel hard to imagine the club spending that type of money on an area which is extremely well covered by James Maddison.
The midfielder only landed in the summer and has already taken to life at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium having returned three goals and seven assists in an injury riddled campaign.
Of course, it would be great to see Spurs adding players of Wirtz’s potential, but it is a huge gamble to take when a player is expected to cost that type of money.
And after all, we have to remember that Kai Havertz came out of the Bundesliga with high expectations and it is still up for debate what level of player he is now in the Premier League.
