Valencia close deal for Athletic Club star | OneFootball

The brass at Valencia have this week tied up a transfer agreement with their counterparts at La Liga rivals Athletic Club.

That’s according to market expert Matteo Moretto, who confirms that Julen Agirrezabala is all set to take his talents to Mestalla.

Goalkeeper Agirrezabala is for his part fresh off playing a prominent role for the aforementioned Athletic Club this past season.

Owing to a long-term injury suffered by the Basque outfit’s no.1 Unai Simón, in fact, Agirrezabala was afforded 28 starts across all competitions.

And his performances along the way, evidently, proved enough to impress those behind the scenes at Valencia.

On the lookout for reinforcements between the posts following Giorgi Mamardashvili’s departure for Liverpool, Los Che had long earmarked Athletic’s backup as a potential addition.

And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media over the last 24 hours is anything to go by, then the Mestalla brass now appear to have landed their man.
