Pep Guardiola has become the latest core member of Manchester City’s first-team operation to pen their long-term future to the Etihad Stadium.
The 53-year-old brought an end to long-standing speculation over where his future lay beyond the ongoing season, with his last deal at Manchester City running until the end of the 2024/25 season and question marks over his intentions growing.
However, following a two-hour dialogue with Manchester City officials over the next phase of the club, and having spent several months weighing up his own thoughts alongside his immediate family, a decision was taken to further commit his future to the Etihad Stadium.
Commitment from Manchester City’s greatest-ever manager for a further two years will likely also lead to a number of existing first-team stars wanting to prolong their own careers at the Etihad, with several players facing varying levels of future uncertainty of their own.
Among those are Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker, both of whom will see their respective contracts expire in consecutive summers starting from 2025, with little to no developments on Manchester City’s intentions.
And following Pep Guardiola’s blockbuster new two-year agreement with the Premier League champions, here is an updated list of Manchester City players’ contract expiry dates alongside the head coach.
