There could be some concerning news for Manchester United, as Juventus are no longer keen to sign their unwanted winger Jadon Sancho.

The London native has been on the Reds’ books since making the £70 million transfer from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2021. However, he never managed to live up to the expectations.

The 25-year-old spent the last 18 months on loan between BVB and Chelsea, with the latter club opting against keeping him on a permanent basis, instead paying a £5m penalty to counter the obligation to purchase the player.

Moreover, Man Utd have made it abundantly clear that Sancho and four of his teammates have no place in Ruben Amorim’s plans, so the five outcasts had no choice but to ask to leave the club.

In recent weeks, the England international has been heavily linked with Juventus, who emerged as his most keen suitor. The Serie A giants were said to be in constant contact with both United and the player’s entourage.

But according to renowned Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Juve no longer consider Sancho their priority target, as their preference is to keep Francisco Conceicao.

The 22-year-old Portuguese winger spent the previous campaign on loan with the Bianconeri, but the club didn’t have the option to buy him from Porto.

At this stage, the Dragao are keen to collect the full amount inserted in Conceicao’s release clause (€30 million), while Juventus are hoping to receive a discount, having already paid €7 million in loan fees last summer.

While it remains to be seen how the negotiations between Juventus and Porto will unfold, Sancho has been relegated to a fallback option, much to the dismay of Man Utd who have been counting on this exit to fund their transfer dealings.

Sancho had also been linked with a move to Besiktas, where he would reunite with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but Juventus has been considered his most concrete destination.
