Marco Asensio looks to have no future at PSG after the club sent him on loan to Aston Villa during the winter transfer window. Despite a productive stint in the Premier League, Aston Villa chose not to keep him permanently — or so it seemed.

The 29-year-old Spain international recorded eight goals and one assist in 21 appearances for the English side. He remains under contract with PSG through June 2026.

According to a previous report from L’Équipe, Marco Asensio initially rejected a €15 million move to Fenerbahçe. PSG accepted the offer, which included performance-related bonuses.

Nonetheless, Asensio isn’t interested in a move to the Turkish Süper Lig. Instead, he’s waiting to evaluate all his market options, with AC Milan now exploring a possible deal.

Despite their limited financial flexibility, AC Milan opened talks with PSG and reached an agreement. Villarreal have also expressed interest, but the La Liga side may not be able to afford the move.

Could Aston Villa still be an option for PSG player?

L’Équipe reported Saturday that the former Real Madrid player consistently showed flashes of technical quality during his time in Birmingham.

Moreover, the report claims that Unai Emery is keen to keep the midfielder on a loan deal. Meanwhile, Fenerbahçe remains a possible destination, but no financial agreement has been reached. The French outlet adds that Asensio is unwilling to take a significant pay cut.
