Everton maintained their unbeaten run to seven games in the Premier League after they drew 1-1 against Brentford on Wednesday night.

David Moyes has made a great start in his second spell at Goodison Park, and Everton are steadily progressing under him.

The Toffees are 15th in the table, one point behind Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, but the progress made by the club under Moyes is clearly visible.

Yoane Wissa scored his 13th goal of the season to give Brentford the lead before the break, but Everton rescued a point through a Jake O’Brien header in west London.

The Toffees have drawn in back-to-back games, and Moyes feels that they should have picked up more points, considering the chances they created.

O’Brien barely featured under Sean Dyche, but he has become an important player under Moyes. The Liverpool Echo has given him a 7 rating out of 10, while the Daily Mail has given him a 7.5 rating.

The Echo wrote: “Heroic diving header at the back post for the equaliser with his first Premier League goal, having previously been too slow reacting to the rebound off the bar when Wissa nipped in to score and ended up spending a couple of minutes at left-back when he and Mykolenko swapped places after a Brentford corner and couldn’t switch back.”

The Toffees could have won the game, but Beto, who has been in great form recently, fluffed his chances.

He was put through one-on-one but failed to get the better of Brentford keeper Mark Flekken on two occasions.

A point away at Brentford isn’t a bad result, but Everton will be slightly disappointed that they could not pick up all three points.

Clearly, they were the better team of the two on the night.
