Udinese are considering making a move for former Inter youth-team defender Etienne Youte Kinkoue in the event that Oumar Solet leaves the club in order to join the Nerazzurri this summer, Football Italia understands.

Cristian Chivu’s side are looking at making a defensive addition before the close of the summer transfer window, and have placed Solet among their potential targets.

If that deal does go through, Udinese will be in need of a replacement themselves. As was initially reported by Gianluigi Longari, Kinkoue, now with Le Havre in Ligue 1, is an option.

The 23-year-old spent two years playing for Inter’s Primavera side between 2019 and 2021, before joining Olympiacos and later Le Havre, where he made 28 top-flight appearances last term.

Over the last few hours, there have been in-depth discussions between the relevant parties, and Kinkoue is now considered a serious candidate to replace Solet at the Bluenergy Stadium.

It is not only Inter who have been looking at a potential deal for Solet this summer, though, as Football Italia understands that there have been enquiries from several other clubs abroad as well.
