Two players have been ruled out of Chelsea’s upcoming games this weekend because they are leaving the club for sure.
Chelsea actually play tonight, facing German side Bayer Leverkusen in what is part of a Malta Weekender promotional event at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea then face AC Milan on Sunday as part of their final preseason preparation.
The club are getting a lot of players out the door right now after what has been a very busy week of outgoing deals by the club.
Midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu had his permanent move to Burnley confirmed last night in what was a tidy little income for Chelsea, and we expect more outgoings too.
And the noise around striker Nicolas Jackson leaving the club has increased a lot this week and it now looks set to happen, with talks already taking place with Newcastle over a move there.
Nicolas Jackson speaking about his development as a player.
Due to the fact he is definitely leaving the club, he will now not be playing in Chelsea’s game tonight or on Sunday. And then I can only assume that Chelsea will have and want him sold before their first Premier League game the weekend after but if not, then I suspect he will not be at all involved in that game either.
Christopher Nkunku is in the same situation and he will not be featuring in these games either because he is leaving the club.
Fabrizio Romano posted on X last night:
“As well as Jackson, Christopher Nkunku also not expected to play in the upcoming games as he will leave Chelsea this month.
“Talks ongoing with several clubs keen and movements taking place for his exit.
“Jackson and Nkunku, both expected to leave.”
