The spotlight of Milan-Atalanta will not only be on the pitch, but also on the stands, more specifically on Tony D’Amico.
D’Amico is one of the main candidates for the sporting director role at Milan, and as Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports he will obviously be present at the match tonight, to follow Atalanta but perhaps to do some evaluations on the Rossoneri.
The Milan board like D’Amico a lot, but the fact that he is under contract with another club slows down the possibility of being able to address certain discussions, and the feeling is that the final decision will be announced at the end of the season.
In the meantime, Igli Tare – who at the beginning of the week had a conversation that lasted a whopping four hours with the Giorgio Furlani – is waiting for news. However, it is clear that if he had been the main candidate, he would have been hired already.
Instead, D’Amico’s stock continues to rise week after week, with Furlani’s job interviews continuing. He is in no rush, because the CEO has no intention of making a mistake with this choice on which the future (sporting and otherwise) of this Milan will depend.
In the meantime, time is running out and external pressure is becoming more and more insistent. D’Amico will have the opportunity to study the Rossoneri team this evening, even if only as an opponent.
