Trent Alexander-Arnold “enjoying the change” as he prepares for Real Madrid debut | OneFootball

Trent Alexander-Arnold could make his Real Madrid debut on Wednesday, when los Blancos face Al Hilal in their FIFA Club World Cup opener at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.

The 26-year-old, who recently completed his long-awaited move to the Spanish capital, revealed to RM Play that linking up with the squad ahead of a major tournament has been “ideal” and helped him to integrate quickly with the rest of the squad.

Alexander-Arnold, who will wear the number 12 shirt for Real Madrid, explained that “the time you spend with the team helps you integrate, so for Dean [Huijsen] and me, it’s ideal to be around everyone, getting to know each other, understanding each other’s personalities and integrating as well as possible.”

“That’s been important for me, being able to come here, spend time in the hotel [and] training on the pitch.”

It’s a process that, he revealed, has been an enjoyable experience so far – thanks in part to his new teammates, who have “gone out of their way to talk to me.”

“They’ve made me feel comfortable, making sure they answer every question I have, especially with translations,” the full-back told the club’s official channel, explaining that “some things are easier than I thought they would be, and some things are more difficult.”

“The meetings and tactical talks are in Spanish, so I need to get used to that a little bit. In terms of everyday conversation, it’s easy. I have a decent level of Spanish, and I can hold a conversation with the guys. Likewise, they understand English very well, so it’s easy to communicate.”
