At just 22 years old, Owen Oseni began his career at Waterford before moving to the Derby County academy in England. With the Rams, he spent time on loan at Nuneaton Borough and Rushall Olympic, before making the switch to Gateshead in the summer of 2024. On Friday, June 27, he put pen to paper with St Mirren.

Still eligible to represent Nigeria (he is 22 and was born in Ireland), Owen Oseni found the net regularly in the National League. He scored 13 goals in 24 matches before his transfer to St Mirren in January. Although he struggled for playing time north of the border, he still finished the season among the National League’s top 20 scorers, despite featuring in only half of the campaign.

"It’s fantastic to have Owen with us. His performances at Gateshead show he knows exactly where the goal is. He scored plenty for the team, and his potential for further development is significant. We believe his presence at Argyle provides an excellent opportunity to help him grow," said Tom Cleverley, Argyle’s head coach.
