With less than a week until the new Premier League season, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are all looking to make statement signings. Benjamin Sesko will be unveiled at Old Trafford today after completing his two-part medical on Friday, while the club are also weighing up a move for Brighton star Carlos Baleba as they look to ship out Alejandro Garnacho and Ramus Hojlund.

Arsenal remain active in the transfer market as they look to further strengthen their attack. Eberechi Eze is the dream target, and Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner was unable to guarantee the player will be staying put, though his £68m release clause expires next week, so a loan move for Real Madrid's Rodrygo is being explored. Interest remains in Anthony Gordon.

Chelsea are leading the race for Garnacho, and will re-enter the market for a centre-back after Levi Colwill suffered an ACL injury. Tottenham are expected to do the same after James Maddison own serious knee injury, and have interest in Nico Paz. Liverpool are set to launch a second bid for Alexander Isak as Darwin Nunez heads to Saudi Arabia. Follow the latest transfer news, gossip and rumours live below!

Jack Grealish, James McAtee and Stefan Ortega are all absent from Manchester City's squad for their Saturday evening friendly against Palermo.

It comes amid ongoing transfer speculation surrounding the trio, with Grealish attracting interest from the likes of Everton and possibly Tottenham, who could snap the England international up on loan.

Is Gyokeres the missing piece to Arsenal's title challenge?

It is a short walk from Holloway Road station to Emirates Stadium - but on Wednesday evening it was clear who Arsenal fans had come to see, writes Simon Collings.

Viktor Gyokeres’s name was everywhere - on shirts, scarves and lips - as supporters arrived eager for a first glimpse of their big summer signing. Club-record shirt sales point to the excitement, and for good reason.

Following 18 months crying out for a striker, Arsenal finally have their man after paying Sporting £64million.

The question now is whether Gyokeres can be the final piece in Arsenal’s jigsaw, after three consecutive seasons of finishing runners-up in the Premier League.

Newcastle are preparing a fresh bid for Brentford's all-time top Premier League goalscorer as they look at replacements for Liverpool target Alexander Isak.

The Magpies are ready to increase their offer to £35m after they saw a £25m bid rejected earlier this summer.

Manchester clubs battle for Baleba

Manchester United could face stiff competition from Man City for £104million-rated Carlos Baleba.

United's big-spending summer continued this week with the £74m arrival of Benjamin Sesko, and reports claim the club hope to conclude a successful transfer window with the capture of Baleba.

Reports claim that United have made contact with Brighton through intermediaries to register their interest in Baleba, who was signed for £23.2m back in 2023.

But United are not the only admirers of the Cameroon international, with cross-city rivals City also long-time fans.

ESPN have confirmed Pep Guardiola's interest in Baleba, though no word on if City would look to match any United bid this summer.

Tottenham: Who can replace James Maddison?

Tottenham may be forced to dip into the transfer market for a new playmaker after it was revealed that James Maddison must undergo surgery on a ruptured ACL.

Thomas Frank has already reinforced his squad’s attacking options this summer with the arrival of Mohammed Kudus and permanent signing of Mathys Tel, while midfield workhorse Joao Palhinha has just arrived on loan from Bayern Munich.

But none of those players carry the creative force of a Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski - who looks set to miss the start of the season with a knee injury of his own - or indeed Morgan Gibbs-White, who came close to a move to north London before signing a new deal at Nottingham Forest.

It means Frank and Spurs chairman Daniel Levy may have to move quickly to recruit a new star of their ilk, with the start of the Premier League season just a week away.

So, if Spurs were to prefer someone more tried and tested in England’s top flight, where could they look? And what about an up-and-coming former Real Madrid player now plying his trade in Italy?

Arsenal want Rodrygo on loan

Arsenal remain interested in signing Rodrygo this summer, according to reports.

The Times state that the Gunners are still keeping tabs on Rodrygo’s situation and will consider a move if a potential loan deal is offered by Real Madrid.

However, the Brazilian is said to be keen on staying at Madrid for the upcoming season and wants to work his way into Alonso’s plans.

Eberechi Eze remains a prime target for Arsenal with other alternatives said to include Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon.

New defender 'a priority' for Chelsea after as Colwill injury

Enzo Maresca said he is prioritising signing a new defender after Levi Colwill underwent surgery on an ACL injury this week.

Colwill played a key role for the Blues last season and at the Club World Cup, but is now set to miss most of next season after he was injured in training this week.

Chelsea have already spent in excess of £200million on new players this summer, but Maresca said Chelsea will likely dip back into the market as he looks to bolster his backline in Colwill’s absence.

“It is a priority for me,” he told Channel 5.

“Levi is a fantastic player. What we achieved last season is because of him. He played a lot of games with me, I love him. We are going to miss him.

“We are trying also to find different solutions.”
