Gunners step up striker search but face stiff competition

Arsenal remain in the hunt for a striker as they look to strengthen before the end of the January window. Benjamin Sesko is their top target, and the RB Leipzig man has reportedly already told the Gunners he wants to join, but Chelsea are also said to be keen on the 21-year-old. Victor Osimhen, Viktor Gyokeres and Igor Jesus are of interest for the Gunners too, while reports claim Matheus Cunha is now also a target for Nottingham Forest.
Manchester United are in talks over a deal for left-back Patrick Dorgu, while an exit for Alejandro Garnacho took another twist with the forward's agents spotted at Stamford Bridge on Monday amid strong interest from Chelsea. Marcus Rashford has reportedly decided he wants to stay at Old Trafford.
Chelsea are set to sign Mamadou Sarr from sister club Strasbourg and are set for talks with Juventus over Dusan Vlahovic. Tottenham are desperate for reinforcements, particularly in attack and Liam Delap is now being linked along with Tyler Dibling. Chelsea will listen to bids for Ben Chilwell, Joao Felix and Axel Disasi.
Enzo Maresca has made it clear Chilwell is not in his plans and that he should find a January move, though GiveMeSport claim that Thomas Tuchel has told the left-back he is still in consideration for England.
It’s also reported that Felix could leave Chelsea this month, with a number of European clubs enquiring about a potential loan, just six months on from Felix signing for £45m.

A January move for Marcus Rashford is looking increasingly difficult, raising the prospect of him staying at Manchester United.
The forward looked almost certain to leave this month after falling out of favour under Ruben Amorim, but AC Milan are among the clubs to have dropped out of the running to sign him.
Barcelona remains an option and is Rashford’s preferred destination, but they must first make room in their squad.
Sky Sports report that a move this window could prove to be too complicated.

Chelsea are planning more talks with Alejandro Garnacho.
The Manchester United winger is said to be for sale this month, with Napoli and Chelsea the two clubs leading the race to sign him.
Garnacho’s agents were at Stamford Bridge on Monday night to watch Chelsea beat Wolves, and a move to the Blues is still a real possibility.
The Telegraph report that Chelsea will hold further discussions, and it is believed that United could accept a bid of £50m.
