Tottenham have drawn the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final clash against Eintracht Frankfurt tonight. A bitterly disappointing start saw Spurs concede after just six minutes when Hugo Etikite found the net with a fine finish, but after a good response Pedro Porro equalised with a clever flicked finish after being picked out by James Maddison.

Ange Postecoglou, who is increasingly coming under pressure over his future, will have known the importance of a positive first leg result given his side have struggled away from home of late but the north London outfit now have it all to do in the second leg in Germany next week to advance to the semi-final.

In truth, Tottenham were unfortunate to not have earned the victory as Lucas Bergvall and Rodrigo Bentancur both hit the post whilst Frankfurt keeper’ Kaua Santos made two brilliant saves to deny Heung-min Son and Micky van de Ven.
