Tottenham Hotspur want to sign West Ham United forward Mohammed Kudus this summer, according to the Telegraph.

The 24-year-old is open to leaving West Ham, and Spurs believe they can sign him for less than his £85 million release clause, which is active for the first 10 days of July.

Scott Parker was the last player to join Tottenham directly from West Ham in 2011, but Spurs are now ready to end their unofficial transfer embargo with the Hammers.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy blocked Emmanuel Adebayor from joining West Ham in 2015, and the clubs have not done business with each other for 14 years.

The Hammers are willing to sell the former Ajax star to raise funds for the summer transfer window, but they are unlikely to get £85m from interested clubs.

Tottenham have been linked with Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo, Bournemouth attacker Antoine Semenyo and Crystal Palace forward Eberechi Eze this summer.

However, a move for the West Ham star is currently their most likely signing.

New Spurs manager Thomas Frank wants to strengthen his attacking options, with captain Heung-min likely to be sold this summer.

Kudus ended last season with just five goals and four assists in 35 appearances, but he bagged 18 goals and ten assists in 48 games in his debut campaign in England.

He also brings Champions League experience to the table, having featured in the elite European competition while with Ajax.

His ability to play several attacking positions makes him an attractive option for Spurs.
