Tottenham Hotspur have nicked a point from Manchester United at Old Trafford.
We say nicked – it should have probably been a victory. Despite Manchester United leading twice, Spurs ultimately dominated proceedings.
Goals from Richarlison and Rodrigo Bentancur clawed Spurs back into the game each time, but in the second half, they had chances to put the game to bed. Nevertheless, not a bad result.
Tottenham had two debutants on the day. Timo Werner who began from the off, and Radu Dragusin. Fans reacted well to the German who started the fixture and even got an assist on his first Spurs outing.

Werner had a decent run-out for his debut in white. His 80 minutes on the Old Trafford turf had Tottenham fans sure enough in their new attacker. They took to X to share their thoughts on the 27-year-old.
A first writes: ‘Werner played well. Also worth noting that he’s only had a couple of training sessions, so he isn’t fully synced with the rest of the group yet and hasn’t played many minutes this season before coming here. Will be a valuable asset imo.’
A second agrees: ‘Really happy with his performance especially considering the circumstances. Assisted one his debut. I’ll have that.’
‘Timo will become a fantastic player in Ange’s system I am convinced of it. All that is needed is time, confidence, and chemistry,’ optimistically says another fan.
A final adds: ‘I reckon Werner is going to thrive at Spurs – not the kind of guy that can do everything, but he’s clever and incisive and makes a lot of good decisions on the ball (even if the final ball isn’t always perfect).’
After just a few days with camp, it’s only going to get better for Werner.
It was a promising debut, and he showed glimpses of what he could bring to Postecoglou’s setup at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
