Bryan Mbeumo has said that he is certain Thomas Frank will do well at Tottenham.

Frank left Brentford last week to become the new Spurs head coach, replacing Ange Postecoglou who was relieved of his duties at the beginning of the month despite ending the club’s trophy drought last season.

The Danish tactician has put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal in north London and Mbeumo believes this is the right appointment, laying out an exciting future for Tottenham fans.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Mbeumo said: "He's done so much for me. He literally trusted me from the start. I think he developed the team so well.

"He developed me as a human and a player as well. So I can only wish him all the best, and I'm sure he's going to do well.

"I think he knows everything. He's really smart. He knows where he wants to bring the team, how he wants to play. I think he's been fantastic for Brentford.

"I think he's going to have some time to adapt, obviously. [Champions League] games, more expectations, as you said, but I'm sure he's going to do well.

"He knows how to talk to people. He knows how to build a group. And that's why we've been playing so well."

Mbeumo’s comments are rather interesting considering he is being linked with a move to Tottenham where he would be reunited with Frank.

Amid Spurs’ plan to rival Manchester United for a £70m deal this summer, the Cameroon international says he accepts there will be speculation regarding his future.

"It (transfer speculation) is a bit new for me I would say!" he added.

"I think it can be the life of a footballer and you need to accept it."
