Having come off the bench in Spurs’ last three matches, including a crucial Europa League clash against Rangers, Bergvall has shown composure and technical ability beyond his years.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has been quick to praise his performances, describing him as 'excellent' and emphasising the value of young players stepping up when the team faces challenges.

Speaking to Football London, the boss said: "We can see he's starting to really feel comfortable at this level. He's showing a real maturity for an 18-year-old and I think that's hugely positive for us.

"By design you don't want to throw young players into it but I think we'll get enormous benefit from it for sure."

The timing couldn’t be better for Bergvall, especially with Spurs navigating a tricky season plagued by injuries and suspensions. Could this be the start of something special for Tottenham’s midfield?

Peter Kisfaludy, Bergvall’s long-time youth coach at Brommapojkarna and later Djurgarden, always believed in the midfielder’s potential.

Kisfaludy cited Bergvall’s intelligence, technical skills, and quick decision-making as key attributes that set him apart.

While the Premier League’s tempo was always going to be a challenge, the Swedish coach was confident in the player’s ability to adjust.

His prophecy appears to have come true, and with Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma suspended, Bergvall could now earn his first Premier League start against Southampton.
