Tottenham Hotspur left-back Sergio Reguilon is reportedly on the radar of La Liga club Getafe.
The Spain international has struggled to make a significant impact at Spurs since his move from Real Madrid and could be set to return to his homeland.
He will also get a chance to return to Madrid, where he is from, as Getafe is a small community in the capital city.
According to Spanish outlet Superdeporte, Getafe are pushing to sign Reguilon in the upcoming January transfer window or on a free transfer next summer when his contract expires.
Reguilon’s once-promising career has hit a roadblock. The 27-year-old full-back is completely marginalised under manager Ange Postecoglou and desperately wants a move away.
After a brief stint at Atletico Madrid and a forgettable loan to Manchester United, he returned to Tottenham.
He then impressed during a loan spell at Brentford last season. However, his demands reportedly stopped the Bees from signing him permanently.
His resurgence was short-lived, as Postecoglou has completely overlooked him this season.
The Australian reportedly does not have the left-back in his plans and has ostracised him from the first team, opting for Destiny Udogie, Ben Davies and Djed Spence.
Getafe could benefit from the experience and quality that Reguilon brings to the table. He is a rapid attacker and a useful outlet down the left. Even though he has his lapses, he is a tenacious defender.
A move to Getafe would allow Reguilon to play regular football, something he has been deprived of at Tottenham.
The Spanish club could acquire him for a relatively low fee in January or secure him on a free transfer next year.
